Nobleford, a small town located in southern Alberta, lies approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Lethbridge. Established as the hamlet of Noble in 1909, it owes its name to Charles S. Noble, a prominent landowner who played a significant role in shaping the local architecture. In 1910, Noble relocated his family from Claresholm to this area, marking the beginning of a new era. To avoid confusion with a community in Ontario, the hamlet was renamed Nobleford in 1913. A century later, on February 28, 2018, Nobleford achieved town status. Notably, from the 1930s to 1998, it housed a cultivator factory established by Charles Noble, manufacturing variations of the Noble blade—a reduced-tillage plow designed to cut weed roots below the soil surface while minimizing moisture loss in the dry, windy climate of southern Alberta. The town’s population, as of 2021, stands at 1,438.
