Parkland is a hamlet located within the Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26 in southern Alberta. The area has a rich history that dates back to the early 20th century. Originally settled by pioneers and ranchers, Parkland became a small agricultural community. The population peaked in the mid-20th century, with a recorded population of 96 in 1961. Over the years, the population has fluctuated, with a recorded population of 50 in the 1991 Census.

In modern times, Parkland has seen a shift from its agricultural roots to a more diverse economy. The community has embraced tourism and outdoor recreation, taking advantage of its scenic landscapes and proximity to natural attractions. The area is known for its beautiful aspen parkland, which serves as a transition zone between the grasslands to the south and the boreal forest to the north.
