Alberta Family Histories Society (AFHS) is a non-profit organization supporting worldwide family history research through education and the encouragement of preservation of information. We have been assisting family historians for over 40 years! We welcome anyone with an interest in genealogy. You will discover how to research your family roots, from anywhere in Canada and around the world. Our programs and resources will be of particular interest for those searching for ancestors in the Calgary and southern Alberta area.

Our objectives are as follows:
a) To promote the study of family history and genealogical research;
b) To encourage and instruct members in accurate and thorough family history research;
c) To assemble, preserve, print and publish information relative to family history study;
d) To raise funds for any of the foregoing objects, and to accept donations, gifts, legacies and bequests;
e) To use any profits or other accretions to the Society in promoting its objects without material gain for its members.
