St. Barnabas Anglican Memorial Garden
The St. Barnabas Cemetery is actually a small memorial garden (just 132 interments) that is part of the property on which St. Barnabas Anglican Church sits. The church, founded in 1906, is located at 1407 – 7 Avenue NW in the Calgary community of Hillhurst, just a few minutes northwest of the downtown core. The church is accessible by public transit by bus on routes 65, 404 and 414, and by C-Train from the Sunnyside stop. There is free parking on Sundays on the streets adjacent to the church.
Sunday services are at 8:30 AM and 10:15 AM. Children are welcome to participate in either service, or, at 10:15 AM service, may choose to join the Sunday School class downstairs after the opening prayer. (Sunday School is in hiatus during the summer and on long weekends.) After each service has concluded, coffee, tea, and light refreshments are served downstairs in the lower parish hall.
The church has many services and programs such as a book club, choir, community garden, library, and others. For more information, visit https://www.stbarnabas.ca/
