ARCH M'PHAIL, OLD TIMER, DEAD. Resident, 72 Years Old, Who Came Here in 1903, Passes Away Friday Night. Death claimed another one of Calgary's old-time residents on Friday night when Archibald McPhail, 72 years, died at the family residence, 323 Eleventh avenue east. He came here in 1903 from Nova Scotia and was employed at the Ogden shops as a machinist for many years. In 1918 he retired and had been in good health up to a shore time ago. Mr. McPhail is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters, Stanley of Calgary; Alex of Wayne; John of Blairmore, and Archie of Regina are the sons, and the daughters are Mrs. P. B. Benedict, Miss Annie McPhail and Miss Kate McPhail, all of this city. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, when service will be conducted by Dr. Macartney Wilson in the chapel of Shaver's undertaking parlors. - Calgary Herald; 26 May 1923, p. 15
