The Town of Rimbey has a history dating back to 1902. Originally known as Kansas Ridge, it was named after the Rimbey brothers – Sam, Ben, and Jim, settlers from Kansas. The town grew around the arrival of the Lacombe and Blindman Valley Electric Railway in 1919. Despite several fires, Rimbey thrived, with its population rising to 634 residents by 1946. Today, Rimbey is a vibrant community, a blend of the farming and oil and gas sectors.
