Pendant d’Oreille cemetery is SE of Etzikom, South of Orion, Alberta. Ranching began in Southern Alberta in 1882. The NWMP opened a post south of Pakowki Lake in 1887. 10,000 cattle were brought from Montana, east of Writing On Stone, in 1896. Until 1910, the closest post office was in Seven Persons, 90 miles north. From 1910 – 1968 Pendant d’Oreille p.o., mail came from Warner.
